GALWAY'S Designers and Bloggers Showcase - February Edition

Well hello there, long time no see (again).

I've been a very bad blogger recently..... Thankfully Santa decided to overlook this behaviour and spoil me rotten nonetheless this Christmas! However this blog post is about more important things than what I had waiting for me under the tree.

I want to tell you all about a very exciting event making its way to our lovely city on the 2nd of Feburary, the GALWAY'S Designers and Bloggers Showcase. However, this is no ordinary showcase, not by a long shot. This event gives the chance for upcoming designers and bloggers, to show off what they got, and believe me, we got a-lot!

The wonderful Sorcha Browne of Sorcha Style's, is the brains and talent behind this concept. Sorcha set her brand up last November, while she was studying Level 6 Design in the Galway Technical Institute. Since then she has gone from strength to strength, and it seems that there is no stopping this girl! She's a designer, milliner, stylist and now she can add events co-ordinator to her CV!

Another talented lady showing her designs as a guest designer is Anna Kurylik, who also attended the Galway Technical Institute. She and Sorcha, were actually classmates when they both studied Level 5 Design. Anna Kurylik crochets in her spare time, and I really believe that this collection is going to be a show-stopper at the event.

All the proceeds from this event are going to COPE, which aids the homeless community, women and children experiencing domestic violence and the elderly community. COPE does amazing work for the Galway community and knowing that we are helping them makes this event extra special. Fashion + improving lives = maths anyone can live with!

Sorcha was kind enough to send me some shots they took at the Stock Exchange, where the event is to be held. It was such a fantastic backdrop for the photo-shoot and will be an venue for the fashion show!

Photoshoot - Power & Control

Well hello there!

How you guys doing?

I have something wonderful to share with you all, pictures from another photo-shoot I was involved in! I have been itching to post these photos on here since we did the shoot on Tuesday and I've been so excited to write this post all day because one of the pictures received amazing feedback on Facebook!

So, a little back-ground before we crack on! My boyfriend, Levi, is studying Media Production in GTI. One of their modules is photography and two weeks ago they were giving an assignment, which he asked me to style for him. Bless him!

The brief for the assignment was to play around with lighting and shadowing, while ensuring a consistent theme was kept through-out the shoot. The minute he told me we were using a spotlight, I instantly began to scribble ideas down and we had an awesome brain-storming session that created these photos below!

I would love to know what you think of them. I'm absolutely chuffed!

Lots of Love,

Sinead

Kate Moss for Playboy

Evening, m'darlings!

Today, 60 years ago, a young entrepreneur in Chicago, set up one of the biggest franchises in the world, with the loan of $1,000 from his own mother. This entrepreneur was, Hugh Hefner and his franchise was of course,  Playboy.

The very first cover model for the magazine, in 1953, was of course the most desired woman of her time, Marilyn Monroe.

It seems only fitting, that 60 years on, a woman of equal desirability, grace the covers. This woman is probably one of my favourite ladies of all time,
Kate Moss.

To make things even more interesting, fashions most powerful due, Mert & Marcus are the photographers behind this amazing shoot, where we see Kate Moss looking freshed face and tasteful, donning the classic 'Playboy Bunny' outfit.

We see Mert & Marcus tame back their usually high gloss, over saturated image for a more soft photo, which clearly plays hommage to the amazing era, this magazine was born in.

Kate Moss is no stranger to posing nude for this pair, having done so before for the cover of LOVE magazine.

Take a look at the pictures below,

I think she looks flawless.
